Oklahoma City, OK – Governor Kevin Stitt has appointed Lindel โขFields โas the new State โSuperintendent of Public instruction, effective โคinstantly, following the resignation of Ryan Walters. โThe announcement came Thursday during โคa press conference at the state Capitol.
Fields, a veteran Oklahoma โeducator withโ over three decades of experience,โฃ will serve the โremainder of Walters’ term.โข His appointmentโฃ comes โขafter Walters announced his departure last week to becomeโค CEO of โคthe Teacher Freedom alliance,โฃ aโ branch ofโ the Freedom Foundation,โฃ and officially began his new role on October 1st.
Fields most recently served as the CEO of Your Culture Coach, a โขcompany focused on leadership training โฃand organizationalโ culture transformation, foundedโ in Mayโ 2021.Prior to that,โค he held the โposition ofโ CEO and Superintendent at Tri-County Tech, a public-sectorโ educational institution, from July 2009 to โฃMay โข2021.
A graduate of โขOklahoma State University with a B.S. โคin Tradeโฃ and โฃIndustrial Teacher โEducation (1996)โฃ and Southern Nazarene Universityโฃ with an M.A.in Educationโฃ Leadership (1999),Fields is currently based in Tulsa. โHis experience andโฃ background are expected to provide stability and continuity as Oklahoma navigates ongoing discussionsโค surrounding โขpublic education.
