Israel Detains Gaza-Bound Activists, Forces Viewing of October 7 Massacre Footage
Ashdod, Israel – Israeli forces intercepted a humanitarian ship carrying 12 activists attempting to break the Israeli blockade of Gaza, arresting all those on board overnight Sunday-Monday. The vessel, named Mased, included prominent figures such as Franco-Palestinian MEP Rima Hassan and environmental activist Greta Thunberg.The activists,hailing from France,Germany,Brazil,Turkey,Sweden,Spain,and the Netherlands,had departed Italy on June 1st with the stated goal of delivering aid to Gaza,which is facing a severe humanitarian crisis after over a year and a half of conflict stemming from the October 7th Hamas attack.
Following the interception approximately 100 kilometers from the gaza Strip, and after repeated warnings, the Israeli army took the activists into custody. They are currently being held in the port of Ashdod, north of Israel, and are expected to be transferred to police custody for
