Robert Glatzel Renews Contract with Hamburger SV until 2027

by Chief editor of world-today-news.com June 13, 2023
written by Chief editor of world-today-news.com

Hamburg (AP) – Center forward Robert Glatzel stays with Hamburger SV. The club announced on Monday that the 29-year-old has extended his contract until June 30, 2027. First, the “Hamburger Abendblatt” reported about it. The original contract ran until the end of the 2024/25 season. The attacker could have left the club for a fixed transfer fee.

“Although we unfortunately missed our big goal in the last two years, I had by far the happiest time in my career so far. I’ve never felt so comfortable at a club,” Glatzel was quoted as saying in a club statement.

In the past season, the 29-year-old scored 19 goals for HSV as the second-best goalscorer in the 2nd Bundesliga, and he also prepared a further seven goals. But even the actions of the attacker did not prevent HSV from finishing third in the final and clearly failing in the relegation at VfB Stuttgart. Now he should help ensure that Hamburg’s promotion back to the Bundesliga succeeds at the sixth attempt.

“Bobby is a very important player for our team, not only because of the many goals he has scored for HSV in the past two years and will continue to score in the future,” said HSV sports director Jonas Boldt.

Pressure on Arsenal’s Edu Gaspar to Secure Priority Transfers: Will Declan Rice and Moises Caicedo Sign?

Arsenal sporting director Edu Gaspar, along with director of football Richard Garlick and vice-president Tim Lewis, are under pressure to ensure priority transfers reach the club on time.

FootballTransfers has learned that Arsenal’s key managers are in the spotlight after the owners made significant transfer funds available to them, to the tune of around £200m.

Edu was promoted in 2022 from Technical Director to become the first sporting director in Arsenal’s history, he could find his job at stake if he fails to bring in priority signings like Declan Rice and Moises Caicedo.

Personal terms have been agreed with both players. Rice reached an agreement in recent days, while Caicedo agreed terms with Arsenal in January.

But Chelsea are pushing hard to sign the Brighton man and the latest reports suggest the south London club are willing to pay Brighton’s £80m asking price.

Arsenal infamously missed out on signing priority January target Mykhailo Mudryk from Shakhtar Donetsk when Chelsea hijacked the deal in the last hour.

Although that may turn out to be a blessing in disguise given Mudryk’s terrible start for Chelsea, the owners or fans will not stand for Arsenal failing to complete transfers.

The recent quotes made by Rice and Caicedo stating that they want to play in the Champions League next season should certainly put Arsenal as favorites to sign the midfield pairing.

This is because the main contenders for both players, Chelsea and Liverpool, are not in the Champions League in 2023-24.

Liverpool are in the Europa League after finishing fifth, while Chelsea are out of Europe altogether after finishing twelfth.

Therefore, Edu and his transfer team will not be viewed positively from above or by the supporters if they fail to convince their main transfer targets to join this summer.

SC Freiburg extends contract with star defender Philipp Lienhart: Latest news and updates

by Chief editor of world-today-news.com June 1, 2023
written by Chief editor of world-today-news.com

Freiburg (dpa) – Bundesliga soccer club SC Freiburg has extended the contract of Austrian national player Philipp Lienhart. The 26-year-old is “a solid pillar in our team. It fits both athletically and personally,” said sports director Klemens Hartenbach in a statement from Baden on Thursday. “Due to his high quality and intelligence, he can fill any position in our different defensive formations.” As usual, the club did not announce how long the new contract would run.

Lienhart has been playing for SC since 2017. This season he played 39 compulsory games for Freiburg. “I’m very proud of the development I’ve made as a player, but also by all of us as a team,” said the defender, who has qualified for the Europa League for the second consecutive year with his team-mates. “This story is not over yet.”

“Manchester United’s Harry Maguire set for summer transfer to Tottenham or West Ham, with a potential fee of £40m”

by Chief editor of world-today-news.com May 19, 2023
written by Chief editor of world-today-news.com

Manchester United centre-back Harry Maguire could make a summer transfer to Tottenham or West Ham, according to FootballTransfers sources.

Maguire has fallen out of favor at Old Trafford since Erik ten Hag took over the team last summer, and having slipped down the pecking order to such a degree that left-back Luke Shaw is now preferred in his natural role, he is ready to go out.

FootballTransfers understands that United are so interested in allowing the England centre-back to leave, that they will accept an offer in the region of £40m from their Premier League rivals.. Previously, it was thought that a deal of around £50m would be triggered.

A move to Tottenham is likely to depend on the presence of Brendan Rodgers at the London club next season. FootballTransfers previously revealed that Spurs are keen to sign James Maddison and Youri Tielemans.

Feyenoord head coach Arne Slot appears to be in the prime position to take over Spurs’ job at the moment, suggesting that Maguire will not be heading to Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Manchester City’s Aymeric Laporte is another player that FootballTransfers understand Spurs are following.; However, Harry could still head to the capital, with West Ham being the other club interested in the 30-year-old, who Man Utd recruited from Leicester for £80m, a world record fee for a centre-back in 2019.

How much is Harry Maguire worth?

Although Man Utd are ready to accept a £40m fee for the centre-back, this is still a higher figure over his expected transfer value (xTV). According to our model, the England defender is only worth around £25m (28.5m euros).

Harry had a peak xTV of £52m (€59m) in January 2021, after which his valuation has steadily declined month-on-month.

Contracted until June 2025, his value has declined this season largely due to his lack of playing time under Erik ten Hag and would likely bounce back at a new club where he was given a regular chance. Tottenham or West Ham could offer him that opportunity.

“Emiliano Martinez Transfer Rumors: Manchester United, Chelsea, and Tottenham Hotspur Interested in Aston Villa Goalkeeper”

Manchester United, Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing Aston Villa goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez this summer.

Martinez is under contract at Villa Park until 2027 after signing an extension last year, but is likely to switch clubs during the next transfer window.

Tottenham are currently chasing the Argentine World Cup winner with slightly more interest than Man Utd or Chelsea, but all three clubs are keeping an eye on the former Arsenal goalkeeper, according to TyC Sports.

The current deal at Aston Villa does not include a release clause, but it has been reported that interest in the 30-year-old is very likely to take further action during the window.

He has been the club’s first-choice goalkeeper since joining from Arsenal for €17m in 2020. However, despite Villa’s recent resurgence under new boss Unai Emery, Emiliano is said to be looking elsewhere. while considering another opportunity in teams of the Premier League that are of the ‘Big 6’.

In 10 years at Arsenal, Martínez embarked on six different loan spells and made just 38 first-team appearances, most of them coming in his final season at the Emirates.

Is he leaving Aston Villa?

Goalkeepers are expected to be in high demand this summer as several elite teams are on the market for a new goalkeeper. Brentford’s David Raya and Everton’s Jordan Pickford have been linked, while Dibu is also admired by some of the biggest clubs in the Premier League.

Despite reports that David de Gea is set to sign a contract extension at Old Trafford, he could still be replaced as Man Utd’s number one goalkeeper, after a catalog of mistakes this season.

On the other hand, Edouard Mendy and Kepa Arrizabalaga could be removed from Chelsea, while Hugo Lloris is expected to leave Tottenham.

Martinez has kept 13 clean sheets in the Premier League this season, while boasting a save percentage of 73.6% in the division this campaign.

“Paris Saint-Germain reportedly interested in Eintracht Frankfurt’s top scorer Randal Kolo Muani”

by Chief editor of world-today-news.com May 11, 2023
written by Chief editor of world-today-news.com

Frankfurt / Main (AP) – In addition to Bayern Munich, Paris Saint-Germain is also said to be flirting with a commitment from Eintracht Frankfurt’s top scorer Randal Kolo Muani.

According to a report by “Bild”, the French champions have already deposited their interest in the 24-year-old striker with Eintracht sports director Markus Krösche.

Kolo Muani moved from FC Nantes to Frankfurt on a free transfer in the summer of 2022 and immediately became the best goalscorer and assist provider in the Hessian Bundesliga club. The French national player’s contract with the Europa League winner runs until 2027. Eintracht demands 120 million euros in the event of an early change.

In order to be able to handle a transfer of this magnitude, however, Paris would have to give up stars. After two years at PSG, Lionel Messi is likely to leave, and according to “Bild” Neymar could be sold. The Brazilian is on the list of clubs in the English Premier League.
