Florida state Fans Celebrate Upset of Alabama with Field Storming,Facing Potential ACC Fine
TALLAHASSEE,FL – Florida State University fans flooded the field at Doak Campbell Stadium Saturday night after the Seminoles defeated No. 8 Alabama 31-17, marking a meaningful early-season upset. The jubilant scene unfolded immediatly following the final whistle, with thousands of fans rushing onto the playing surface to celebrate with the team.
The field storming comes just weeks after the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) announced stricter penalties for such occurrences. The ACC policy, implemented in July, levies a $50,000 fine for a first offense, $100,000 for a second, and $200,000 for each subsequent instance of fans rushing the field or court.Florida State will likely be responsible for paying the initial $50,000 fine.
