Bingรถl Restaurantโ Faces Scrutiny Over price Discrepancies Between dine-In and Delivery
Istanbul, Tรผrkiye -โ Bingรถl Restaurant, a โpopular eatery with locations in รmraniye and Esenler, is under fire following social media posts questioning significant priceโฃ differences between orders placed through delivery applications and thoseโฃ made directly atโ the restaurant. A customer, โขidentified as Erdin, publicly inquired why a glass of ayran costs 110 โTL โvia appsโ but 145 TL when purchased in person.
The controversy, which began on Bingรถl’s own social media account, quicklyโ escalatedโข as Erdin raisedโค further concerns regarding โฃtaxation and additionalโ fees. He questioned the restaurant’s tax payments – 44,000โ TL in 2022 and 55,000 TL in 2023 – and whether a “Valet” fee is charged for customers utilizing door service at the Esenler โขlocation.Erdin also highlighted the high cost of other menu โitems, including a 955 TL per-person iftar menu in 2023, a 110 TL soda, andโ aโ 485 TL chicken wrap. โThe situation underscores a growing debate over pricing strategies employed by restaurants utilizing third-party delivery services โand the clarity of associated costs for consumers.
Erdin’s posts have garnered attention from the Ministry โฃof Commerce, with a direct tag to Press Advisor Bekir Kaplan, and a pointed question: “Wouldn’t it be an exorbitant price to sell โ10 TL ayran for 110 TL?” Bingรถl Restaurant has not yet publicly responded to the allegations.
