PIMCO and GAM declined to comment on questions about AT1 holdings and potential legal action.

written by Chief editor of world-today-news.com

[ニューヨーク 8日 ロイター] – Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell will testify before the House Financial Services Committee on Wednesday, and a decision is almost certain at the Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) on March 21-22. Officials have yet to make a decision on the size of the proposed rate hike, he said.

“We haven’t made any decisions about the March meeting yet,” he said. “We are not going to make a decision until we see additional data,” which will be released before the next FOMC meeting, he said.

“We are not on a pre-set path,” he said, adding that future data will determine whether a 0.25 percentage point or 0.50 percentage point hike is needed at the next meeting.

[北京 5日 ロイター] – A government work report released on the occasion of the opening of China’s 14th National People’s Congress (NPC) warns that risks remain in the real estate market and promotes steady development of the sector, encouraging developers to It was written that it would prevent disorderly business expansion.

Premier Li Keqiang said risk aversion to property developers was one of the government’s priorities this year as buyers remained cautious. In his activity report, he said, “There are more potential risks in the real estate market, and some small and medium-sized financial institutions are at risk.”

He also pledged to solve the youth housing problem and support the needs of homebuyers.

Analysts at the Yiju Institute of Knowledge Center said, “There are many problems with real estate buyers, such as the fear that home buyers will stop repaying mortgages, the inability to hand over pre-sold homes, and the default of developers. “Property developers face a lot of risks and this shows a lack of spending power and confidence.” “Only when consumer demand for housing rises will other real estate problems, such as the financial risk of big housing companies, really be resolved,” he said.

OSLO (Reuters) – Swedish environmental activist Greta Thunberg was twice detained by police on Wednesday during a protest in support of indigenous human rights in the Norwegian capital Oslo. Police took Thunberg and her other activists away from the Ministry of Finance and then from the Ministry of Climate Change and the Environment.

Thunberg and other activists protested on February 27 calling for the removal of 151 wind turbines from reindeer pastures of the Norwegian nomadic Sámi. He argues that the transition to green energy should not come at the expense of the rights of indigenous peoples.

Activists have blocked access to some government facilities in recent days. Norway’s left-wing minority government has been forced to cancel a state visit to Britain by Oil and Energy Minister Arsland.

Norway’s Supreme Court ruled in 2021 that turbines from two wind farms in Vossen, which are part of Europe’s largest onshore wind farm complex, violate indigenous rights under international treaties. . But more than 16 months later, it’s still working.

Thunberg, carrying a Sami flag, was escorted from the Ministry of Finance by police as hundreds of demonstrators chanted slogans.

Thunberg and other demonstrators were then turned away by police again after blocking the entrance to the Ministry of Climate Change and Environment.

Thunberg was later released along with other activists detained with him.

(Reuters) – Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Zakharova said on Monday that the United States was responsible for last year’s explosions on the Nord Stream 1 and Nord Stream 2 undersea pipelines that carry natural gas from Russia to Europe. “The U.S. administration needs to comment on all the facts,” he said.

U.S. journalist Seymour Hayes reported on his blog on Thursday that the U.S. was behind the Nord Stream explosion. Reuters has not independently verified this information.

The White House said Mr Hersh’s information was “absolutely false and completely fabricated.”

The Russian government has repeatedly accused the West of being responsible for the Nord Stream explosion and gas leak last September, without providing any evidence.
