Hamas Arms Deal: Suspect Apprehended on Train to Flensburg
Flensburg, Germany – โคGerman โขauthorities arrested Mahmoud Z., a Lebanon-born man, Thursday morning aboard a train arriving from Denmark in Flensburg. the arrest is linked to an investigation into the procurement of weapons โallegedly intended โfor โuse by Hamas.
Federal Criminal Police Office (BKA) and Federal Police officers executed the arrest as Z. โentered Germany. Investigators believe Z. โserved as an intermediary inโค a weapons transaction, sourcing firearms and ammunition ultimately destined for potentialโค attacks targeting Israeli or Jewish institutions in Germany and โคacross Europe. The arrest marksโ theโ third โsuspect taken into custody in connection with the unfolding case, raising concerns about the potential for planned violence.
According to investigators, Z. allegedly โpurchased a Sturmgever, eight pistols, and โคover 600 rounds of ammunition in Hessen in August.โฃ he thenโฃ transportedโ the weapons to Berlin, where he handed them off to Wael F. M., whoโ was arrestedโ on october 1st.Both transactions are connected to Borhan El-K.,โ whoโค was recently arrested โand is also implicated in the arms deal.
