CeeDee Lamb expressed confidence he will play next Sundayโ despite sustaining an ankle โคinjury during Sunday’s game against teh Arizona Cardinals. The Dallas Cowboys wide receiver briefly left the game after removing his left cleat and seeking treatment in the medical tent, returning for one play in the second quarterโ before remaining on the bench for the remainder ofโฃ the half.
Lamb’s availability is critical for the Cowboys’ offense, as he had recorded consecutive 100-yard receiving games entering Sunday’s matchup and โขfour such performances dating back to last season.โค While he admitted to rushing his โreturn attempt, both Lamb and โCowboys owner Jerry Jones expressed optimism about the injury not being serious.
“This is like one of those protect me away from myself type of deals,” Lamb said. “Once I start feeling much betterโฃ and then I started โto get โthe โคstrength back in my ankleโฆ I was โready to go back out there, but they took me out.”
Jones echoed โthat sentiment following the game, stating, “I โฃtalked toโค him, he felt good about itโฆ He thought he could go, so that’s a good sign. And then the doctors told him that they thought it was not as serious as it could be.”
Lamb will undergo โfurther testing on Monday to โฃdetermine the fullโ extent ofโ theโ injury. He did not record a reception during the game,โข with โฃhis only touch coming on a โขcarry. The Cowboys face the Green Bay Packers next week at AT&T Stadium. Last season, Lamb played throughโข a shoulder injury for much of the year before ultimately missing โthe final games of the season.
