LONDON – London football club Crystal Palace wants to fight to return to the European League.
On Friday, UEFA transferred him to a multi -owned conference league. Club president Steve Parish confirmed that they are currently exploring all the possibilities, including appeal to the Sports Arbitration Court (CAS).
American entrepreneur John Text owns a stake in Crystal Palace and is also the majority owner of the French club Olympique Lyon, who also won participation in the European League. However, Parish rejects allegations of the influence of the text on the club’s functioning.

“Everyone knows that the textor and his company Eagle Football do not have a decisive impact on our club and we are not part of any common ownership group with other clubs,” President Crystal Palace stressed according to DPA.
According to Article Five UEFA regulations for club competitions, clubs that wanted to qualify for the European Cups in the 2025/26 season, as of the 1st Marc, prove that no natural or legal person has control or influence over more than one club in the same competition.
Parish believes that UEFA’s decision was not right: “We fell into the trap, we got involved in a rule that was not intended for us. Evidence that the textor does not affect our club, we submitted UEFA, but by 1 March we were unable to meet all the requirements.”
DAC should get to know the verdict on Monday
According to UEFA rules, Lyon could remain in the second highest European club competition, as he took 1 higher placement (6th place) in the Ligue last season as Crystal Palace (12th place) in the Premier League.
He won the historical participation in Cup Europe by winning the English Cup FA, which was a premiere trophy for the club in 119-year history. He was supposed to play the main phase of EL, but instead, he is likely to be presented in the playoffs of KL.
This problem also applies to Dunajská Streda, which was excluded from the 2nd round of the conference league, as FC ETO Győr also plays in the same competition. The Slovak club is owned by Oszkár Világi and the Hungarian representative in the hands of his daughter Réky. DAC has already appealed to time, which should decide on Monday.
