Lars Fast Overcome as Musical Idols Acda & De Munnik Perform His song on “Best Singers”
Hilversum, Netherlands – Singer-songwriter Lars Fast was visibly moved Saturday evening on the popular NPO 1 program Best Singers as Dutch musical duo Acda en De Munnik performed his original song, “She Lets Me Talk,” dedicated to his partner, Sterre. The performance drew keen praise from fellow contestants and judges alike.
Acda en De Munnik intentionally chose a song that felt authentically within their own musical style, according to Paul de Munnik. “What is very nice is that Lars has been very inspired by us from the start,” he explained. “We chose a song that I think could have been a song of ours… We are not going to change that much at all. We are just going to sing the song as if you have written an Acda and the Munnik song.”
Fast was already emotional before the performance began. “Oh, how stunning. That is already a very nice compliment,” he said, acknowledging the honor. He shared the personal importance of the song, explaining, “I am not such a talker. I do that in my songs or on the couch at Sterre and goes there She lets me talk About.” Thomas Acda added, “It’s an ode and that’s nice.”
Following the performance, a visibly touched Fast embraced the duo.”Thank you,” he said, adding, “That Acda and de Munnik, my great examples, sing a song that I made for and about Sterre, there is already a lot in my head together.”
Fellow contestants Jan Smit and Paul de Leeuw also lauded the rendition. Smit commented, “The love for Sterre seeps through the entire song,” while de Leeuw declared, “It has become a real Acda and the Munnik number. You just want to hear this more frequently enough.”
Fast concluded the evening with a deep bow, stating, “It’s really a gift and I’m going to put it somewhere in a bar in my head. I open it occasionally and then I will smile I think.”
The program Best Singers airs every Saturday at 8:30 pm on NPO 1. A segment featuring bente Fokkens reflecting on her own emotional performances during the series was also included in the broadcast.
