Gerindra Urges Energy Ministry to Secure Fuel Supply Chain Amidst Scarcity Concerns
Jakarta, Indonesia – A leading figure in Indonesia’s Gerindra party is calling on the โขMinistry of Energyโฃ and mineral Resources (ESDM) to prioritize the stability of the fuel supply chain following reports of scarcity at privately-owned gas stations. Bambang haryadi,Secretary of the Gerindra Factionโฃ in the DPR (House of Representatives),emphasized the need for careful โฃconsideration of potential disruptions.
“Theโ Ministry of Energyโ andโค Mineral resources must pay close attention to the stabilityโข of theโ supply chain and distribution networks,” Haryadi stated on Thursday, September 18th, 2025. “Any policy decisions must factor โin โฃthe potential impact on the fuel โsupply and the livelihoods of workers inโข the โsector.”
Haryadi highlighted the significant disparity between state-owned Pertamina‘s extensive network – boasting 6,400 gas stations andโ 6,700 Pertashops – and the comparatively smaller presenceโข of private operators, which number around 450 stations, representing approximately 5% of โPertamina’s total.
“Given this imbalance, ESDM must proceed with caution,” Haryadi warned. “A fuel shortage could erode public trust in the government.”
the concerns come as President Prabowo subianto’s management settles in, and Haryadi stressed the importance of mitigating any potential disruptions that could impact the new government’s stability. He urged complete risk assessmentโ and mitigationโข strategies to โprevent public unrest.
“We hope that in making policies, comprehensive mitigation is carried out so as not to cause public noise that disrupts President Prabowo’s administration,” he concluded.
The โcall for vigilance underscores โthe critical role of aโ reliable fuel supply in maintaining economic stability and public confidence โคin โIndonesia.
