Woman Reveals โฃDesperate Depths of Cocaine Addiction -โ From Licking Car Seats โtoโค 80 โDays โClean
Aโฃ woman โฃhas โฃbravely shared teh โharrowing details of her cocaine addiction, revealing she once resorted โtoโ licking โฃcar seats and sniffing carpets in a desperate search forโฃ dropped traces of theโ drug. Bethany Nicholson, 31, from Manchester, opened up โaboutโค her years-long battle with the Class A substance, detailing how a single โคline inโ a nightclub toilet spiralled into aโ life-threatening โคdependency that destroyed โherโค relationships, finances, and career.
nicholson’s addiction began sociallyโข but quickly escalated, consuming her โlife โand leading to increasingly desperate โmeasures to feed her habit. โShe blew through benefits intended for living โฃexpenses, prioritizing cocaine above all else. “It was โso bad, I’d lick โฃcar seats and sniff carpet if I dropped drugs โขbefore wake-up,” she confessed. A turning point came in July when,โ after multiple relapses, she finallyโ confided inโฃ her mother โand therapist.
After initially experimenting with cocaine socially, Nicholson found herself increasinglyโฃ reliant on the drug.Over months, sheโข relapsed โrepeatedly, battling intense self-loathingโฃ with โeach setback. The final relapse in July prompted a crucialโข step: โhonesty with her โฃsupportโฃ network.
With the support of her mother and therapist,Nicholson committed to recovery and distanced โฃherself from her former friendship group, recognizing the need to remove herself from environments where drug use โคwas prevalent. A โsubsequent diagnosis โof ADHD provided further insight โฃinto her vulnerability, learning that individuals with the condition are statistically more prone to cocaine addictionโข due to impulsivity, inattention, andโฃ self-medication tendencies. “Knowing โขI wasn’t to ‘blame’ for becomingโ an addict really helped โคme,” โฃsheโ explained.
Now 80 days clean, Nicholson is utilizing therapy, group sessions, and social media – whereโค she posts about her journey under the โคhandle @Sobrietywithbeth – toโ maintain accountability and inspire โothers. She has been overwhelmed by the response, receiving hundreds of direct messages from women struggling with similar addictions, both current and in recovery.
“One line in โa nightclub toilet almost endedโข my life,โค wreaking havoc on โคmy relationships, my finances and โขmy career,” Nicholson stated. While โขcurrently unemployed, she hopes to return to social-media management nextโ year as her recovery progresses.
Nicholson’s story serves as a powerful message of hope, demonstratingโ that recovery from โcocaine addiction โคis possible.
