Marco Island center for the Arts Announces 2025 Season of plays
Marco Island audiences will have a full season of theatrical performances to enjoy at the Marco Island Center for the Arts, with shows scheduled from January through April 2025.
The season kicks off January 8-25 with “Four Old Broads: Miss Magnolia Senior Citizen Beauty Pageant” by Leslie Kimbell, directed by Christi Lueck-Sadiq. The comedy centers around a senior beauty pageant adn promises “Southern sass and outrageous antics.”
In February, from February 5-22, the Center will present “Moonlight and Magnolias” by Ron Hutchinson, directed by Marlene Strollo.The play offers a behind-the-scenes look at the frantic creation of the screenplay for “Gone with the Wind,” depicting the five-day writing process fueled by bananas and peanuts.
March brings Neil Simon’s “California Suite,” directed by Paula Keenan, running from March 5-22. The play features four comedic tales unfolding within a single hotel suite, exploring themes of relationships and vacation mishaps.
The season concludes april 2-19 with “You’ve Got Hate Mail” by Billy Van Zandt and Jane Milmore,directed by Joan Gerberding. This modern farce tells the story of an affair unraveling through misdirected emails, presented entirely through digital dialog.
