Akron-Area โHigh School Athletes of the Weekโ Honored Through November
Akron-area โhigh โschool athletes have been recognized for their outstanding achievements in fall sports, with weekly โawards โขpresented from September 22 through November 9. The Beacon-Journal’s Athlete of the โWeek programme highlights topโ performers in a variety of disciplines, includingโค soccer, โfootball, cross country, golf, and volleyball.
The program, which began on October 3 with Bree Carpenter of Ellet soccer and Marlin Engram Jr.of East football,โ aims to celebrate the dedication and skill of local student-athletes. subsequent honorees included Maggie Gerschutz (Wadsworth cross country) โคand Phil Partin (Manchester football) onโข October 10; Makayla Martuccioโ (Tallmadge cross country) andโ Anderson Seredick (Nordonia cross country) on october 17; Elizabeth Coleman (Highland golf) and Crew McDaniel (Hudson cross country) on October 24; Brooklynn Hamptonโ (Archbishop Hoban soccer) and Nick Myers (CVCA soccer) onโฃ October 31;โ Allison hay โ(Tallmadge โcross country) and Sam Hopp (Twinsburg cross country) on Novemberโ 7; and Samantha Dehrmann (Archbishop Hoban volleyball) and Marty Tobin (Walsh Jesuit football)โข on โขNovemberโ 14.
To โensure โfairness and โcontinued recognition, athletes who win the fall โAthlete โคof โthe Week award areโ ineligibleโ for future โconsiderationโ until the winter sports season commences.
