False Claims Circulate Regarding โEvo Morales‘ Arrestโข at Bolivian Airport
A fabricated video allegingโฃ the arrest of former Bolivian President Evo morales at the โChimore International Airportโข isโข circulatingโฃ online, but authorities have not โconfirmed the โฃfacts and evidence indicates the videoโค is from 2019. The false โคclaim, labeled asโ “Live,” surfaced with a description stating, “Urgent. They have just โฃarrested the former president of Bolivia Evo Morales atโ theโ Chimore Airport.”
Investigations by The Diary and Cotejo.Info revealed the video originated in November 2019, depicting Morales’ arrival in Mexico, as originally โขreported by Millennium on YouTube. While Morales currently has an arrest warrant issued in Bolivia, as of December 1, 2025, there is no credible โevidence ofโฃ his detention.
The arrest warrant stems from an October 2024 accusation-later endorsed by โa Tarija court-alleging Morales โฃhad a child with aโข minor while โขin office in 2016. โข He was declared in absentia byโ a judicial court in โขearly 2025 after failing to appear at hearings related to chargesโ of aggravated human trafficking, citing illness. Morales recently โappealed toโข the TSJ, referencing the annulment โฃof a 10-yearโข sentence and release of formerโฃ interim president Jeanine รรฑez.
