Mayor Michelle Wu secured aโ second term, running unopposed after preliminary election challenger Josh Kraft withdrew from the race in September.
Brockton
Brockton will have its first mayor of colorโข as City โCouncilor Moises Rodrigues defeated City Councilor Jean Bradley Derenoncourt. Unofficial results show Rodrigues receiving 6,680โ votes (50.54%) to Derenoncourt’s 6,420 votes (48.57%).
Everett
A change in leadership is coming to Everett, where City Councilor Robert Van โCampen unseated long-time Mayor Carlo DeMaria, who has held the positionโค sinceโฃ 2008. Van Campen received 4,118 votes to DeMaria’s 3,440, according to unofficial results.
Fall River
Incumbent Mayor Paul Cooganโค narrowly won re-election, defeating Gabriel Boomer Amaral by a margin of 5,841 votes (50.68%) to 5,616 votes (48.73%).
Lawrence
Lawrence residents re-elected Brian De Pena as mayor,who defeated Juan โ”Manny” Gonzalez with โ5,982 votes to 5,110. The Secretary of the Commonwealth Bill Galvin’s office will monitor theโ election following “numerous complaints” regarding absentee ballot applications.
Methuen
Incumbent โคMayor DJ Beauregard secured another term, defeating Barbaraโค R. Stoebel with 4,459 votes toโ 1,064.
Somerville
Somerville โคelected โคCity Councilor Jake Wilson as its new mayor, defeating Cityโข Councilor Willie Burnley Jr. Wilson received 11,185 votes (54.26%) to Burnley’s 9,054 votes (43.93%). Incumbent Katjana Ballantyne did not advance past the preliminary election.
