Russia Issues โAssassination โThreat Against EU President โคvon der Leyen, Labeling Her ‘Teh โNewโฃ Hitler’
Brussels, Belgium โ -โค A prominent Russian state media โฃpersonality โขhas calledโ for โthe assassination of โEuropean Commission Presidentโค Ursulaโค von der leyen and Estonian Prime Minister kaja Kallas, escalating tensions amidโฃ a disputeโค over frozenโค Russian โฃassets. Vladimir Solovyov, a key voice forโ the Kremlin, โฃissued theโฃ chilling threatโ on hisโค radio show, “Full Contact,” accusing the leaders โฃof “stealing” Russianโ funds.
Solovyov specifically targeted von der Leyen, stating, “An old thieving woman, Ursula โฃvon โฃder โLeyen, โis trying to steal ourโ assets. The very idea that a person, whose authority doesn’t even remotely includeโ this, is making โคthese decisionsโ and all Europe says โokay shows that we have a new Hitler.” He further urged Russia to pursue anyone connected to the EU as “terrorists,” โstating, “If we find them inโ the outhouse, we’ll โคwhack them there.”
The threats come in response to a recently โคproposed EU plan to mobilize approximately ยฃ80โค billionโ to support Ukraine by seizing โor borrowing against the ยฃ180 billion in Russian stateโข and private assets currently frozen in European banks and clearing houses. Theโค plan, spearheaded by von der Leyen, aims to cover two-thirds of Ukraine’s funding needs through 2027.
“We are proposing toโ cover two-thirds of Ukraine’s financing needs for the next two years. That’s โฌ90 billion. Since pressure is the only โlanguageโ the Kremlinโ responds to, โwe can also dial โคit up,”โ von der Leyen โขstated.
The largest portion of the frozen assets, roughly ยฃ160 billion, is held in Euroclear, a clearingโฃ houseโ based in โBelgium.Though, โthe Belgian government has expressed reservations aboutโข the plan, fearing potential legal โliability for theโฃ full amount if โฃthe assets are transferred โฃto Ukraine.
Solovyov also called for the EU toโ be designatedโ a terrorist association and all relations severed. The Kremlin has โขnot officiallyโค commented on Solovyov’s remarks, but his broadcastsโ are widely seen as reflecting official Russian sentiment. This latest escalation marks โคa significant hardening of rhetoric as the conflict in Ukraine continues.
