dua Lipa is making a habit of honoring local musical icons during her Radical Optimism world tour. At her May 11 show at Madrid’s Movistar Arena, she delighted fans with a performance of Enrique iglesias’ 2001 hit, Hero, sung entirely in Spanish.

The crowd erupted as Lipa began singing Héroe, the Spanish version of the song. A clip shared by Billboard shows Lipa swaying with her band, then giggling and making a heart with her hands toward the audience.

Enrique Iglesias achieved crossover stardom at the turn of the century. The English version of Hero spent 34 weeks on the Hot 100 chart, according to Billboard.The Spanish version, Héroe, reached Number One on the Hot Latin Songs chart.

A Tour of Covers

Lipa’s Radical Optimism tour has featured several notable covers, showcasing her versatility and respect for other artists.

• New Zealand: Last month, Neil Finn of Crowded House joined Lipa onstage for a rendition of the band’s 1986 hit, Don’t Dream It’s Over. she also covered Lorde’s Royals during another show in Auckland.
• Australia: The Australian leg of the tour included covers of Troye Sivan,INXS,Kylie Minogue,Vance Joy,and AC/DC.
• Sydney: In March, Lipa covered Tame Impala’s The Less I Know the Better, with a special appearance by collaborator Kevin Parker.

Before bringing Parker on stage, Lipa shared her admiration: I made most of Radical Optimism with this person and he’s one of my favorite artists. He’s inspired me a lot. I manifested and dreamt about working with him one day and then I managed to make one of my favorite albums with him.

Tour Continues

The European leg of the Radical Optimism tour continues through June,with stops planned in Paris,Amsterdam,London,and Dublin. The North American leg begins in toronto in September,followed by a south American trek in November.
