After the diatribes linked to tire wear and track limits, with the FIA adopting restrictive measures on the use of tires during the race, the Qatar GP ended up in controversy also due to conditions beyond the limit. The suffocating heat in the Middle Eastern venue caused several problems for the riders during and after the race, all of whom reached the finish line exhausted. Testimonies from workers inside the paddock reported that many drivers left the cockpit with symptoms of heat exhaustion. Fortunately, the organizers had moved in time, calling all the medical staff back to parc fermé to deliver supplements and drinks to the drivers. The first live television images were eloquent, showing the top three classified getting thirsty and lying on the ground before the celebrations on the podium. However, in some cases the imagination from other eras of Formula 1 has been surpassed.

Red Bull Favored for Victory in Middle East Weekend as Battle for Podium Heats Up: McLaren vs. Ferrari
There is no doubt that Red Bull will also start the Middle East weekend as favourites, chasing their sixteenth victory of the season and with the internal challenge between Verstappen and Perez which could definitively decide the fate of the championship. The fight for the podium, however, is more unpredictable, where McLaren will try to confirm itself after Singapore and Suzuka, but will have to deal with a Ferrari that has been growing in recent Grands Prix. With Leclerc appearing to have regained his confidence and Sainz feeling good with the SF-23, the objective for the Maranello team in Qatar is to continue to move closer to second place in the constructors’ standings occupied by Mercedes with the hope of returning to the podium.

Air Astana aircraft engines recalled by manufacturer due to possible defects
US engine manufacturer Pratt & Whitney (P&W) has announced that nearly a third of the latest PW1100G-JM geared engines produced may contain defective high pressure turbine first and second stage discs and therefore require accelerated disassembly and inspection. .ru.
It is estimated that during the year, companies will need to return at least 1,200 engines to the manufacturer for inspection and partial disassembly. The PW1100G-JM engines are installed on the Airbus A320neo family of re-engined aircraft.
According to public figure Denis Krivosheev, NEOs were purchased by Air Astana CEO Peter Foster equipped with Pratt & Whitney engines. Air Astana and Fly Arystan have only 38 aircraft out of 43. Five aircraft – four Airbus 320 and one Embraer E2 have been idle for several months.
Foster himself confirmed that four aircraft had an engine problem.
Aviation expert Abul Kekilbaev believes that the situation will undoubtedly affect the regularity of flights by Air Astana.
“The problem is that there aren’t many standby engines on the market either. In the airline’s report for 2022, it was noted that the decrease in the technical reliability of new generation engines affected punctuality, ”the expert commented on the situation.
Denis Krivosheev also cited the response of the Samruk-Kazyna fund in 2019 regarding the problematic PW1100 engines.
“There was a series of engine removals on the Airbus Neo with early modifications of the PW1100 engines. For each specific case of removal of early series engines tested by AirAstana, P&W provided spare engines during maintenance and upgrades at special facilities,” the fund said.
From this follows the conclusion that the aircraft were tested in test mode on real passengers. At the end of 2022, the AirAstana airline group carried out more than 70% of domestic passenger traffic.
“Due to industry-wide supply chain issues, the recall of engines has resulted in increased turnaround times at technical centers. Approximately 10% of the fleet with this type of engine is now decommissioned pending engine replacement,” added expert Abul Kekilbaev.
Tragic Death of Dilano van ‘t Hoff in Alpine’s European Formula Regional Championship
The motorsport world is mourning the tragic death of Dilano van ‘t Hoff, Dutch driver in Alpine’s European Formula Regional Championship.
The 18-year-old driver ended up being the victim of a collision involving several cars at the exit of the Raidillon, one of the fastest, most mythical and most dangerous corners in motorsport.
Under the rain and with a lot of spray on the track making it difficult for the drivers to see in that area of the circuit, Van ‘t Hoff lost control of the car after a first accident involving another driver and was violently hit by the car of another participant.
Less than four years ago, Frenchman Anthoine Hubert, then a Formula 2 driver, lost his life after an accident at the same location. He was 22 years old.
