Snoop Dogg Steps Into⁤ the House of Horror with Eli Roth

snoop Dogg is adding a new role to his already extensive resume: horror movie star. The rapper is set to star in Eli roth’s⁣ upcoming film, “Don’t ‍Go in⁤ That House, Bitch!,” a project aiming to redefine the haunted house genre ⁤with a blend of classic influences and a distinctly modern edge.

A Unique Collaboration: Roth⁣ and Snoop dogg

The project marks another collaboration between Roth and Snoop Dogg, who previously worked together on the rapper’s 2012 music video for “La La La”. This time, Snoop’s involvement extends beyond a visual contribution. He’s ⁢not ⁢only a producer of the film, thru his Death Row Films, but will also take on⁢ a starring role. According to Roth, Snoop has long been eager to produce films under the Death Row banner [1].

“He’s been wanting to do Death‌ Row Films for a long time,” Roth shared at the Bvlgari Eternal Vimini⁢ party. “I said we need to ‌make the ultimate haunted house ‍movie, like the craziest ⁢one…something so insane people can’t believe it exists.”

Blending Horror Classics for‌ a Modern Nightmare

Roth envisions “Don’t Go in That House, Bitch!” as a homage to, ⁢and deconstruction of,‌ iconic horror films. He intends to blend elements from films like “House”‍ (1985), “House by the Cemetery” (1981), the Japanese cult classic “hausu”‍ (1977), and the “Friday the 13th” franchise. ⁣The goal is to create something genuinely unsettling and unexpected. Roth released a fake trailer for the ⁤movie in August, generating early⁢ buzz and setting the tone for the project. He completed the script over the recent holidays, and is now focused‍ on finalizing‌ the cast and budget.

Snoop Dogg’s Musical‍ Contributions

Snoop Dogg’s creative involvement doesn’t⁣ stop at acting and producing. He is also heavily involved in the film’s soundtrack. He has already composed original score music ⁤for Roth’s upcoming⁣ film, “Ice Cream Man,” proving his versatility as a composer beyond his hip-hop roots [1]. He’s also⁣ penned⁣ a song for “Ice Cream Man” intended for the end credits.

The creative partnership clearly extends beyond the professional realm. Roth highlighted the unexpected depth of⁢ Snoop’s musical talents, stating, “He sent me ⁤some score — not hip-hop, but actual score. I was like, ‘Oh my god, ⁣this‌ is unbelievable.’…So ‌we have a whole section of the movie that’s fully scored by Snoop.”

Production Details⁣ and California roots

Filming for “Don’t Go in That ‍House, Bitch!” is slated to begin in June. Roth is actively seeking a California tax credit to keep production local.⁤ “If I get the tax credit,I want to ⁤shoot it in Los Angeles so we can have all L.A. ⁢people on it,” ⁢he stated, indicating a desire to ‌support the local film industry.

“Thanksgiving” Sequel on ‍Hold

While⁢ Roth is ramping up⁣ “Don’t Go In That house, bitch!”,⁣ fans will have to wait a bit longer for the sequel to his‌ 2023 hit, “Thanksgiving.” Production has ⁤been temporarily‌ postponed due to scheduling conflicts with star Addison Rae, who is currently on a concert tour, and Milo Manheim, who will⁣ be ⁣starring in ⁤the live-action adaptation of “Tangled” [1]. Roth remains optimistic about the project, ⁤assuring fans that it will be back on track when everyone’s schedules align.

“Everybody wants to do it. I’m gonna have it locked and loaded, and we’ll find‍ a time when we’re all available,” Roth said. “We’ll ⁢just go back for a⁢ few weeks and have fun.”

“Don’t Go in That house, Bitch!” promises to be a unique and potentially groundbreaking entry in the horror genre, blending the creative vision of‌ Eli Roth with the multifaceted talents of Snoop Dogg. As production moves ⁣forward, horror fans have much to anticipate.
