Jakarta –

The government officially provides incentives for electric vehicles on March 20. The electric vehicles that will be subsidized are electric motorbikes.

One of the electric motorbike brands that are given incentives by the government is Selis. Marcomm of PT Selis Retail Indonesia, Edo said that the public’s interest in subsidizing electric vehicles is very large. Because, after it was announced that the government had officially provided incentives, many had asked about this either on Selis’ social media or by visiting the Selis branch.

“For questions, there have been a lot of DMs to us via social media and come to the branch,” he told detikcomTuesday (7/3/2023).

Edo said that his party had anticipated this. Therefore, later every visitor who comes to the Selis branch and wants to know about information regarding the government-subsidized Selis electric motorbike will be given a form to fill out so that later information can be given regarding this matter.

“We have anticipated this by providing a form to our official showroom called the Selis Center. Later visitors who ask for subsidies will fill in data to get updated information,” he said.

The program is planned to be carried out no later than Friday. “This program can run no later than Friday. It’s just to register first (to get information), it’s not certain to get a subsidy,” he explained.

For information, Selis is one of the electric motorcycle brands subsidized by the government. Selis’ parent company, PT Gaya Abadi Perfect (SLIS) revealed that there were two Selis products that would receive subsidies, namely E-Max and Agats. The domestic component level (TKDN) for E-Max is 53.69% and for the Agats electric motorbike it has a TKDN of 53.37%, higher than that set by the government, which is 40%.

“The Selis electric motorbike will receive a subsidy of up to IDR 7,000,000. The price before the government subsidy is IDR 22,000,000 and Selis can also provide additional subsidies of up to IDR 5,000,000 so that the Selis E-Max electric motorbike can be purchased at a price of IDR 10,000,000,” said Operational Director of PT Gaya Abadi Perfect, Wilson in a written statement, quoted on Tuesday (7/3/2023).

Jakarta, CNNIndonesia —

Minister ESDM Arifin Tasrif stated that the government would start dispensing electric motor subsidies in March 2023 with an amount of IDR 7 million per unit.

He said the subsidy was allocated for 50 thousand units of electric motorbikes.

“Yes, (subsidies) for electric motorbikes, convertible motorbikes and also new motorbikes. For motorbikes, the amount is around IDR 7 million,” he said after attending a meeting on electric vehicle subsidies at the Office of the Coordinating Ministry for Maritime Affairs and Investment, Monday (20/2).

He said the subsidy was given as an incentive for people to be able to have an electric motorbike at a low cost.

“There is only one goal; by using electric vehicles, people can save on fuel costs. If fuel costs can be saved, the state can also reduce oil and fuel imports,” he said.

He added that apart from saving fuel, the government also hopes that the subsidy can help clean the air in the country.

“If everyone uses electric vehicles, our air will also be clean. So reducing carbon emissions, that’s a benefit. So it’s not subsidizing those who can and can’t afford it, it’s a different understanding,” he said.
