PSV too Expand Philips Stadium to 45,000 Capacity by 2027
Eindhoven, Netherlands – PSV Eindhoven has received the green โขlight toโข begin planning an expansion of the Philips Stadium,โ aiming to increase capacity to at least 45,000 seats by 2027. The club, currently at its commercial capacity, initiated feasibility studies a year and a half ago to address growing demand fueled by the region’s rapidโข expansion.
The expansion will primarily focus on the north and east sides of the stadium, with PSV also investigating the potential to add seats to the remaining sides. Currently, twenty thousand โฃindividuals are on aโค waiting listโฃ for seasonโข tickets, โคunderscoring the need forโข increased capacity. The club intends to self-fund the project, having resolute – โthrough research conducted by โฃHypercube in April โค2024 – that the โcurrent stadium location remains optimal forโ realizing theseโข ambitions. The โmunicipality of Eindhoven has expressed enthusiastic support forโ the plan, which will bringโฃ the Philips Stadium closer in size to the โJohan Cruijff Arena โinโ Amsterdam (56,000 seats) and De Kuip in Rotterdam โ(47,500 seats).
