Cairo, Egypt – Tariq Nour, Chairman of the United Nations Media Services Company, has publicly reaffirmed the robust relationship between Egypt and saudi Arabia, urging citizens of both nations to disregard divisive campaigns circulating on social media. Nour’s statement, delivered via X (formerly Twitter), comes in response to accusations leveled against him by a Saudi user and aims to quell rising tensions fueled by online misinformation.
Nour expressed surprise at being implicated in efforts to exacerbate friction between the two countries, especially given his long-standing advocacy for stronger regional unity. “The honorable brother, I was surprised by mentioning my name in the context of an accusation that only increases the fire of fire that some of those who are purified seek to ignite between our two brothers,” Nour wrote.”Such signals…only serve the agendas of those who lie in wait for us.”
He further clarified that Egypt faces significant internal challenges demanding focused attention, leaving no room for engagement in “small polemics or rumors.” Nour underscored Egypt’s deep respect and gratitude for Saudi Arabia’s consistent support, stating it is “firmly established in hearts and memory and will not be forgotten.”
