Education cannot Waitโ Announces $3.5 Million Emergency Grant for Bangladesh
NEW YORKโฃ – November 12, 2023 – Education Cannot Wait (ECW), the global fund for โeducation in emergencies and protracted crises, today announced a $3.5 million emergency โฃgrant to โaddress the urgent educational needs of children impactedโ byโ recent crises inโ Bangladesh.โ The funding will provideโ immediate support to vulnerable children โขand youth,โ ensuring continued access to quality educationโ amidst ongoing challenges.
The grant will specifically target children affected by climate change-inducedโ displacement, flooding, and other emergencies, with a focus โฃon providing safe learning environments, essential learningโ materials, and accelerated learning programs. Bangladesh,โค highly vulnerable to โขclimate-related disasters, faces increasing disruptions to education, disproportionately impacting marginalized communities. this funding aims to mitigate these disruptions andโ safeguard the right to education for the most at-risk children.
