Liga de Quito and Coach Tiago Nunes Face Combined $105,000 Fine from Conmebol
QUITO, ECUADOR – Liga Deportiva Universitaria de Quito (LDU Quito) and head coach Tiago Nunes have been sanctioned with substantial fines by Conmebol following incidents during their recentโ copa Sudamericana match against Sรฃoโ Paulo. The penalties, announced October 15, 2025, underscore Conmebol’s strict enforcement of its regulations.
LDU Quito was fined $40,000โ for non-compliance with โaโข provision outlined in the Club manual. Simultaneously, Coach Tiago Nunes received aโค personal fine โฃof $65,000.
The levied amounts will be directly deducted from the financialโ prizes LDU Quito is eligible to receive from the Copa Libertadoresโค tournament. Conmebol officialsโค emphasized the need for the club to exercise increased vigilance to prevent future infractions.
