PSIR Rembang Disqualified from Liga 4 After Fan Violence & Heavy Sanctions

PSIR Rembang’s hopes of advancing to the national stage of Liga 4 have been extinguished following a severe disciplinary decision by the PSSI Central Java Disciplinary Committee. The committee has disqualified the club and levied a substantial fine following a violent incident after a match against Persak Kebumen.

The disciplinary hearing, held on Friday, February 13, 2026, centered on the Liga 4 Central Java semifinal leg two match between PSIR Rembang and Persak Kebumen. PSIR Rembang lost the match 0-2 at home, resulting in a 1-3 aggregate defeat, according to reports.

Following the final whistle at Krida Stadium in Rembang Regency on Thursday, February 12, 2026, supporters invaded the pitch and physically assaulted the match referee, Dwi Purba Adi Wicaksana. Supporters reportedly expressed dissatisfaction with the referee’s decisions, alleging bias and claiming a handball was missed in Persak Kebumen’s penalty area.

The PSSI Central Java Disciplinary Committee issued Decision Letter No. 103/KD.L4/PSSI.JTG/II/2026, outlining the penalties. PSIR Rembang has been disqualified from the 2025-2026 Central Java Liga 4 competition and fined Rp 45,000,000 (approximately $2,800 USD). The club is also required to play its next six home matches behind closed doors in the following Liga 4 competition.

In addition to the team sanctions, a separate penalty of Rp 5,000,000 (approximately $310 USD) was levied for “violation of regulations and discipline regarding invading the field and disturbances” specifically related to fans throwing water bottle packaging.

A particularly severe penalty was handed down to Abdul Rochman, the Safety and Security Officer for PSIR Rembang. He was found to have run onto the field after the match and physically attacked the referee, punching and kicking him. Rochman has been banned from all football-related activities for life.

The disciplinary committee’s decision cites violations related to “invasion and disturbances” and “responsibility for the bad behavior of spectators.” The committee determined that the actions of supporters, players, match officials, and the panitia (organizing committee) constituted a breach of sporting conduct and compromised the safety of the match.

Rasno, the manager of PSIR Rembang, stated the club will hold an internal meeting to discuss the decision and consider an appeal, according to detik.com. No timeline for that meeting has been announced.

As of Sunday, February 15, 2026, the PSSI Central Java has not announced any further disciplinary actions related to the incident, nor has Persak Kebumen commented on the outcome.
