Raúl Fernández secures First MotoGP Victory in Emotional Phillip Island Race
Phillip Island, Australia – October 19th – Raúl Fernández of Aprilia Racing Team achieved his maiden MotoGP victory today at the Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit, crossing the finish line after 27 laps in 39:49.571 minutes. The win was particularly poignant for the young Spaniard, who revealed he was overcome with emotion during the final lap, crying inside his helmet.
This breakthrough win marks a notable milestone not only for Fernández and the Trackhouse Racing team but also for Aprilia, representing their 300th victory in the premier class of motorcycle racing. The result injects fresh momentum into the championship battle as the season nears its conclusion, and elevates Fernández to tenth in the World Championship standings with 146 points.
Fabio Di giannantonio (Ducati) finished second, 1.418 seconds behind Fernández, while Marco bezzecchi (aprilia) completed the podium in third, 2.410 seconds off the pace. Alex Marquez (Ducati) and Pedro Acosta (KTM) rounded out the top five.
