Dubuque,Iowa – Council #573 of theโข Knights of Columbusโ in Dubuque,Iowa,celebrated itsโ 125th anniversary on Sunday,marking a milestone as the oldest Knights of Columbus council โคin โฃthe state. The anniversary was commemorated wihtโค a Massโ at St. Joseph the worker Church, followed by a dinner at the Knights โof Columbus hall.
Founded on February 2, 1899, Councilโค #573 โhas been a cornerstone of the Dubuqueโ community for a century and โคa โquarter, dedicated to its principles of โfaith, family, community, and patriotism. The Knights of Columbus, a global โคCatholic fraternalโ association, was established in 1882 by Michael J. McGivney in โขNew Haven,โ Connecticut.โ The Dubuque council’s longevity reflects โthe โฃenduring โvalues โof the โคorganizationโ and its continued โrelevance in supporting local initiatives โคand charitable causes.
