Bhutanese National Selection Underway for Eurovision Asia Song Contest

Voting is currently underway at drukvote.com to determine Bhutan’s representatives for the inaugural Eurovision Asia Song Contest and the ABU TV Song Festival 2025. The selection process, known as Drukda, follows the elimination of three artists in previous rounds.

Seven artists remain in contention for the top two spots:

- Tashi Choden
- Tshering Namgay
- Thukten Nyendra
- Pelden Wangchuk

The following artists were eliminated in earlier rounds of the competition:

Voting Results (Semi-Final)
The semi-final voting results, combining scores from a jury panel and online votes, were as follows:
- Sangay Lhaden – 259 (90+92+77) + 20.09% of the vote
- Thukten Nyendra – 258 (90+92+76) – 17.38% of the vote
- baeyul 301 – 243 (80+90+73) – 16.99% of the vote
- Karma Drupchu - 173 (57+59+57) – 12.10% of the vote – Eliminated
- Pelden Wangchuk - 168 (54+58+56) + 11.36% of the vote
- Tshering Namgay – 166 (54+57+55) + 11.7% of the vote
- Tashi Choden - 158 (53+54+51) +10.92% of the vote – Eliminated
Grand Final Voting Breakdown
The winner of Drukda will be steadfast by a 70% jury vote and 30% online public vote. The winning artist will represent Bhutan at the Eurovision Asia song Contest, to be held in Mumbai, India. The second-place act will compete in the ABU TV Song Festival 2025.
Eurovision Asia Song Contest: A New Chapter
The Eurovision Asia song Contest, an offshoot of the long-running European competition, was initially announced in March 2016. After nearly a decade,national selections are now launching,beginning with Bhutan and Vietnam,as reported by eurovoix.
according to the first episode of Drukda,18 countries are expected to participate in the inaugural Eurovision Asia event.While the European Broadcasting Union (EBU), the organizer of the Eurovision Song contest, has not yet issued official statements regarding Eurovision Asia, it has collaborated with partners to develop the competition.
