Jakarta, Indonesia – Two promising talents from Persija Jakarta, Dony Tri Pamungkas and Muhammad Rayhan Hannan, have officially been released from the Indonesian U-23 national team roster following their participation in the 2025 AFF U-23 Cup. The duo, who were considered key players under coach Gerald Vanenburg, have concluded their involvement in the tournament.
Pamungkas and Hannan were consistently named in the starting lineup throughout the competition. They both featured prominently in the opening group stage match against Brunei Darussalam U-23, with Hannan even contributing a goal in the 35th minute. Their importance was further highlighted in the subsequent fixture against the Philippines U-23, where they again started. The pair also played the full 90 minutes in the “Derby Nusantara” clash against Malaysia U-23.
In the semifinal encounter against Thailand U-23, Hannan played the entire match, while Pamungkas was substituted in the 113th minute, replaced by Yardan Yafi. Their departure marks the end of their current stint with the U-23 squad, leaving a void in the midfield for the team’s upcoming challenges.
