Kuala Lumpur – A section of Kualaโข Lumpur International Airport (KLIA)โ experienced a significant leak โfollowing โheavy rainfall on โFriday,โ resulting in water pouring from the ceiling near the โคqatar โฃAirways check-in counter. The affected area was โpromptly closed off by airport authorities.
Malaysia Airports statedโ the incident occurred around 4:15 PMโ local time andโค that containment, cleaning,โฃ and recovery efforts wereโฃ initiated promptly, continuing with increased intensity as weather conditions improved. The area was clearedโ within approximately โ90 minutes, and check-in โคcounters K and L resumed normal operationsโ after system โฃevaluations.
According to โMalaysia Airports,core airport โคfunctions remainedโ unaffected,including passenger services,terminal โmovement,the aerotrain,and baggageโฃ handling systems. Technical checks โare ongoing,โข with some support functions under close monitoring. The โคcause of the leak isโฃ currently under inquiry.
