King Charlesia75, is rarely seen jumping on the neck of a stranger, but this time the blue-blooded man made an exception.

The King met the New Zealand women’s rugby team at Buckingham Palace this week. The video released of the encounter between the Black Ferns team and the king has gone viral – surely because of the affectionate gesture that breaks the protocol.

One of the players wished he could hug the king, if that suited him.

– A hug? Why not, Charles replied with a smile and spread his arms.

Many players gave the king a hug, who started laughing.

Black Ferns also posted the video on their own Instagram account.

– He seems so moved and excited by the question and that enthusiasm, the comments say.

– Oh, I think King Charles really wanted and needed this hug just as much.

Charles was diagnosed with cancer earlier this year. Buckingham Palace announced the world-shaking news in February. At that time, it was announced that the king had already started cancer treatments.

Insider sources recently told the Daily Mail that the king’s health is going “in a very positive direction”.
