Property owners across Kuwait will now receive instant notifications when a lease is registered against their property, thanks to a new digital service launched by the Public Authority for Civil Information (PACI). This initiative aims to strengthen oversight and protect property ownership rights.

PACI announced the launch of the “Residence Notification” service through the unified government submission,Sahel. This marks a significant step in Kuwait’s ongoing efforts to create a fully integrated digital government ecosystem. The service provides property owners with real-time visibility into tenancy records and residency registrations, alerting them whenever a new rental contract is registered.

According to PACI, the primary goal of this service is to empower owners to verify the legitimacy and accuracy of lease registrations. If an owner receives a notification for a contract they did not authorize, they can take immediate action to address the issue.

Owners have the ability to cancel the associated residency directly through the Sahel application using the “Cancel Residents” service, also referred to as the “Remote Residents” service. Alternatively, property owners can visit PACI headquarters in person to complete the necessary procedures.

The authority emphasizes that this new service considerably enhances the monitoring of rental contracts throughout Kuwait and plays a crucial role in preventing the misuse of residential addresses. By ensuring accurate and up-to-date residency information linked to properties, PACI aims to reduce unauthorized registrations and improve the overall reliability of national civil data.

PACI explained that the introduction of the Residence Notification service is part of a broader strategy to digitize public services, improve data accuracy, and foster better coordination between government entities. Officials highlighted that this initiative supports the government’s overarching vision of building integrated digital platforms that enhance efficiency, clarity, and the user experience for both citizens and residents.
