Delhi to Observe Public Holiday on November 25, 2025 โfor 350th Shaheediโฃ Diwas of Guru Tegh Bahadur
New โขDelhi: The Delhiโฃ Government has announced โคNovember โข25, โ2025, as a public โholiday to โcommemorate โthe 350th Shaheedi Diwas of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib Ji. The decision โhonorsโ the ninth Sikhโ Guru, who was executed in 1675 by Mughal emperor โAurangzeb for defending religious freedom.
Delhi CM Rekha Gupta โขstated,โข “The delhi Government has decided to declare 25 November 2025 as a Public Holiday to commemorate the sacred occasionโ of the 350th Shaheediโ Diwas of Sri guru Tegh Bahadurโ Sahib Ji. May Guru Sahib’s timeless message of courage, compassion, and freedom of faithโ continue to guide andโค inspire us in our collective journey ahead.”
Here’s what will be closedโ and open:
* Government Offices: Most stateโ government offices and departments will be closed.
* Educational Institutions: โค All government-runโค schools and many private schools โฃare expected to be closed.
* hospitals: Emergency services and government hospitals will remain operational.
* Transportation: Delhi Metro, buses,โข and taxis will operate according to thier regular schedules.
The announcement follows an invitation from the Chief Minister for citizens โคof Delhi and across india to participate in a three-day commemoration atโข the Red Fort from Novemberโค 23-25.
Indian railways will operate two special train services to facilitate travel to commemorative events.A 22-coach train will depart Patna Sahib on November 23 at 6:40 โam, arriving at Sri Anandpur Sahib at 4:15 โฃam on November โ24.โฃ A โ17-coach, fully โAC train willโ alsoโค depart from old Delhi onโ November 22, 23, 24, and 25 at 7 AM,โฃ reaching Shri Anandpur Sahib.
