Milan, Italy – Hundreds of passengers โคtraveling to India for the Diwali festival โฃare facing meaningful disruptions after Air โคIndia cancelled flight AI138 from Milan โฃto Delhi on โFriday,โ October 17.The airlineโ cited an “extended technical requirement” asโฃ the โreason for the cancellation, stating the decision was madeโ to prioritize passenger safety.
Affected passengers were provided with hotel accommodations, though โขlimited availability resulted in some being housed away from the airport.Airโข India โis working to rebook travelers on flights beginning october 20, utilizing both its own services and partner airlines where โคpossible.
The airline proactivelyโค addressed visa โconcerns for some passengers, including one individual whose โSchengen visa was setโ to โคexpire on October 20, by securing a seat โon anotherโฃ airline departing Milan on October 19.
“We sincerely โregretโค the inconvenienceโฃ caused and reaffirmโค our commitment to the safety andโ well-being of our passengers and crew,” an Air India spokesperson โsaeid. The airlineโค is โขcontinuing toโค provideโ meals and ground assistance to those impacted.
The cancellation comes during a peak travel period ahead of Diwali, leaving many passengers scrambling โขto adjustโข their plans to reach โคIndia in time for the celebrations.
