Woman Diesโฃ Following Liposculptureโฃ Surgery inโ Delicias, โChihuahua; inquiryโ Launched
Ciudad Delicias, Chihuahua – A 40-year-old woman, Leticia Ivonne,โ died september 27th after undergoing cosmeticโค liposculpture and lipectomy surgery at aโ privateโ clinic in Ciudad Delicias, Chihuahua. The deathโฃ was โฃattributed too excessive blood and fluid loss, leading to hypovolemic shockโข and multiple organ failure, according to authorities.
The incident has sparked concerns about unregulated cosmeticโ proceduresโข in the region, with the chihuahuaโ Association of Plastic Surgeonsโข alleging the surgery mayโฃ haveโข been performed by an individual without the proper specialty or license. Similar cases of alleged โmedical usurpation have beenโ reported in โCiudad Juรกrez. The State Attorney General’s Office (FGE) has opened an โinvestigation into Ivonne’s death andโ is reportedly reviewing complaints โrelated to irregular aesthetic surgical practices and the deaths of other women asโ recently as August.
ivonne entered the โprivateโค clinic โon September 24th andโ was transferred to the Regional Hospitalโ ofโ Delicias when complications arose. She later died at the hospital, and her body was taken to the Forensic Medical Service.
“Given this painful โsituation โand as in others of this same character, we have been prudent and followed after โฃthe investigations that the โคState Prosecutor’s Office โcan develop and provideโค us, mainlyโข not to hinderโข their inquiries, and respect the figure of โคthe person who died,” stated Jorge Ivรกn Borunda Herrera, โขpresident of the Chihuahua AC plastic surgeon school.
The investigation will determine if the facility where the procedure was performedโค met official and legal requirements for surgical interventions. The FGE has confirmed โthat ministerial police have interviewed staff at at least three medical centers in the state โฃcapital, including the University Central Hospital, regarding theโ complaints.
