The Circuito de Karting Club Aeromodelos Chile buzzed with excitement as over sixty young drivers from seven South American nations battled for regional supremacy in the 2025 South American Karting Championship. Held from July 24-27, the event captivated local fans eager to witness the continent’s burgeoning karting talent.
Homegrown Victories and Global Aspirations
The four-day championship served as a critical launchpad for aspiring racers, showcasing intense wheel-to-wheel competition. Dignitaries from across the region attended, including the President of the Chilean Olympic Committee, **Mr. Miguel Angel Armando Mujica Brain**. The event culminated in triumphant victories for Chilean drivers **Diego Pรฉrez** in the OK Junior category and **Agustรญn Sepรบlveda** in the OK category, both securing their spots at the FIA Karting World Championship.
The winners’ accolades, provided by the FIA South America VP Motorsport Development Fund, include complimentary travel and entry to the prestigious FIA Karting World Championship in Kristianstad, Sweden. This initiative underscores the FIA’s dedication to lowering entry barriers and nurturing grassroots talent in motorsport.

Young **Diego Pรฉrez**, celebrating his OK Junior victory, shared his elation: The good thing is that I was able to win and that I felt the support of the fans to achieve itโฆ The final was close, right down to the last corner, but I’m happy to be moving on to the Junior World Championship in Sweden, which is also thanks to the team that supports me and my family.
Echoing this sentiment, **Agustรญn Sepรบlveda**, the OK Category champion, expressed his joy: I’m incredibly happy with what I’ve achieved, because we’ve worked hard this year toward this goalโฆ I’ve participated in several races abroad this year, and it’s great to repay the efforts of my family and my mechanic with this victory. The final was tough and difficult, like all of them, but I managed to pull through and now I’m going to a World Championship for the third time!
