NRL Star brandon Smith Accused of Supplyingโข Cocaine to Former Teammate Victor Radley
Sydney, Australia – โฃSouth โฃSydney Rabbitohs player Brandon Smith is facing drug supply charges, with allegations surfacing that heโ provided cocaine to former Sydney Roosters โteammate victor Radley during a golf โtrip last June. Queensland Police allege Smith contacted a drug โdealer to procure the substance for Radley, aโ claim Smith’sโค lawyer vehemently โdenies.
According toโค reportsโฃ from Nineโ Newspapers and CODE Sports, the incident occurred during a bye round trip to the Sunshine Coast โinvolving at leastโค seven Roosters players.
Smith maintains he was not even in Queensland at the โtime of โขthe allegedโ offense. His โlawyer, Paul McGirr, stated, “Brandon Smith will not be commenting on the โallegation โin any wayโฆ At thisโค stage the matter will beโฃ contested. The allegationโข confirms Brandon wasn’t even in the jurisdiction of queenslandโ at โขthe โคtimeโ of allegedโ offending.”
Radley not Currently a Focusโ of Investigation
Crucially,โฃ authorities are currently not investigating Victor Radley โฃin connection with the allegations. Reports indicate heโค is not considered a person of โinterest by Queensland Police.
The South โฃSydney Rabbitohs releasedโข a statement on Tuesday confirmingโ they willโข support Smith in โcontesting the charge. “Through his solicitorโฃ Paul McGirr, the โClub understands that Brandon was not physically โฃin the jurisdiction of Queensland when this matter โwas alleged โto have occurred, โandโข thus, we are instructed that the matter will be contested,” the statement โฃread.
The Sydney Roosters have yetโฃ to issue a comment. Though, earlier this โฃyear,Roostersโค chairman Nick Politisโค outlined aโข strict zero-tolerance policy towards drug use within the club, stating,”If โขsomebody’s caught doing cocaineโฆ we’re goingโ to get rid of โคthem.”
