Dallas Cowboys cheerleaders Kick Off ‘The Tonight Show Starring jimmy Fallon’ Following NFL Opener
NEW YORK – The Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders energized a national television audience Monday night, opening The Tonight show Starring Jimmy Fallon following the NFL’s season-opening game between the Detroit Lions and Kansas City Chiefs. The performance marked a high-profile moment for the iconic squad, which recently gained increased visibility through the Netflix docuseries America’s Sweethearts: Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders.The cheerleaders’ appearance comes after a year of significant change and increased advocacy for the team. The first season of America’s Sweethearts, which premiered on Netflix in 2024, offered a behind-the-scenes look at the demanding world of professional cheerleading, including rigorous tryouts, extensive rehearsals, and the challenges of balancing personal and professional commitments.
Season 2, which debuted in june, highlighted the cheerleaders’ triumphant push for improved compensation. Dancers secured a 400% pay raise after veteran members advocated for wage increases throughout the season, as documented in the series. Netflix announced in August that America’s Sweethearts will return for a third season in 2026.
The Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders have been a fixture of the NFL since their debut in 1972 and are recognized globally as a symbol of the Dallas Cowboys institution.
