Remains Found in Tesla trunk linked to Rising singer D4vd
Human remains discovered in the trunk of a Tesla impounded in Hollywood have been identified as belonging to a male, and the vehicle is registered to 22-year-old singer and songwriter D4vd (real name David Burke), authorities confirmed Tuesday. The remains were reportedly so decomposed that investigators initially could not determine the person’s gender, according to KTLA.
The discovery has prompted a homicide investigation and led to the immediate suspension of a marketing campaign featuring D4vd by Crocs and Hollister. while Burke is currently on tour, the unfolding investigation raises questions about the circumstances surrounding the death and potential disruption to his career, wich has seen rapid ascent fueled by viral TikTok hits.
Burke rose to prominence in 2022 with the singles “Romantic Homicide” and “Here With Me,” gaining notable traction on the social media platform. He followed up with the release of his debut EP, Petals to Thorns, in May 2023, and The Lost Petals a few months later. His debut album, Withered, was released in April 2024 and received reviews from publications like Rolling Stone.
The singer launched his current tour in August, with North American dates scheduled through September 20 in Los Angeles. Following the North American leg,a European,U.K., and Ireland tour is planned for October and November.
In a joint statement to Footwear News, Crocs and Hollister announced they had removed campaign content featuring D4vd ”with respect to the current situation” while the investigation continues. Law enforcement officials have not yet released further details regarding the investigation.
