kerala Police Arrest Child Abuse Accused Fleeing to Chennai
Bengaluru/Kozhikode, kerala – Kerala Police have arrested Riyaz, the accused in a child abuse case, in Chennai following a five-day intensive examination. The arrest, made possible thru meticulous tracking and investigative techniques, circumvented the need for reliance on mobile phone data or tower locations.
The investigation began after the victim was reportedly in a location for no more than an hour in Bengaluru on the 23rd.Police obtained CCTV footage showing the suspect boarding a train to Chennai at 23:00 (11 PM) on the same date, utilizing an auto-rickshaw and taxi to reach the railway station. Police surveillance followed the suspect onto the train.
Farook,the Crime Squad ACP of the Makhi Region,led the operation from the train itself. A “marathon” investigation, lasting 20 hours from the 20th, was conducted by a team from the Kerala Police, culminating in the suspect’s apprehension.
The investigation team successfully tracked Riyaz despite his attempts to avoid detection through conventional means. Kozhikode Commissioner T.Narayan and DCPI Arun Paviter provided crucial guidance and support to the team.
The successful operation was a collaborative effort involving Sub Inspector P.C. Sjith,Assistant Sub Inspector Arun kumar Mathura,Senior cpos IT Vinod and Anjiyam Saneee Babu,and CPOs Saneee Babu and Akhilon. Cyber cell experts Suchit and Chefin also contributed significantly to the investigation.

The reliance on physical surveillance and detailed tracking proved instrumental in securing the arrest without relying on possibly unreliable mobile phone data.
