CSKA Sofia analyst Martin Stoyanov has been released from his position with the frist team, effective immediately, according to reports from Telegraph Match. The move comes from newly appointed head coach Hristo Yanev, who intends to have his own staff handle analytical duties.
Stoyanov will remain within the club, transitioning to a role at the CSKA academy. This personnel shift marks an early move by Yanev as he reshapes the technical staff following his return to lead CSKA, and signals a potential restructuring of the club’s analytical approach.
Stoyanov’s career includes a important connection to CSKA, initially as a player in their youth system from 2002 to 2008. Following studies in the united Kingdom, where he worked with Loreto College and Stockport Dainamus, he returned to CSKA in December 2020 as an assistant coach.
He served as an assistant within the CSKA academy for the under-19 and under-15 teams during the 2021/22 season. A brief stint with Alan Pardew’s first-team headquarters in April 2022 was followed by a return to the academy. In 2023, Stoyanov worked with CSKA 1948, serving as both an analyst and assistant coach.
Prior to rejoining CSKA in April 2024 as a general analyst and innovation specialist under Dusan Kerkez, he held a position at the September School and assisted the Bulgarian women’s national team. His most recent assignment was with Kerkez’s staff before Yanev’s decision.
