Pedestrian Fatally Struck by Vehicle in tucson
TUCSON, Ariz. (13 News) – A 34-year-old man died Saturday night after beingโ hit by a car in Tucson. The incident occurred justโ after 9:15 p.m. on August 30, โค2025, in the 2700 block of South Wilmot Road,โ near Golf Links.
Tucson Policeโฃ Department โข(TPD) and Tucson Fire Department (TFD) โคpersonnel responded to the scene and determined โฃRichard Daniel โขTownsend was pronounced dead at โฃthe scene.
Accordingโข to TPD, Townsend was crossing Wilmot Road โคwhen he was struck by a northbound white 2007 BMW 328 traveling โinโค theโข median lane. Investigators confirmedโ Townsend wasโ not in a markedโฃ or โฃimplied crosswalk at the timeโฃ ofโค the collision.
The driver of the BMW stopped immediately โand isโ cooperating with the ongoing investigation. TPD stated the โฃdriver โshowed no signs of impairment.The male driver โฃand femaleโข passenger in the BMW were uninjured.TPD detectives areโ continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the โฃcrash.โข As โขof Sunday, no โcriminal charges โor civil citations have been issued.
