Over 3,000 CPS Energy customers in Bexar County are currently without power as of Tuesday afternoon, according to theโค utility company. The outages โขbegan around 2:30 p.m.โค and are โimpacting โareas across โฃtheโข county,โฃ leaving residents and businesses โฃgrappling with disruptions. CPS Energyโค crews are working to determine the โคcause โฃand restore service, but an estimated time for fullโ restoration has not yet been provided.
The widespread outages come amid risingโค temperatures, โขraising โconcerns for โvulnerable โpopulations โคand increasing the urgencyโค of repairs. CPS Energy reports โคthe affected areas are scattered throughout Bexarโข County, making pinpointing aโข single cause challenging. Customers are encouraged to report outagesโ and โcheck for updates on the CPS Energy website or thru their โmobile app.
As of 3:45 p.m., CPS โEnergy’sโฃ outage map showed 3,089 customersโค affected. The utility company stated โvia X (formerlyโ Twitter) that they are awareโ of the situation and are dispatching crews to investigateโ and resolve the issue. “we are aware of widespread โoutages impacting customers in Bexar County. Crews are working toโข identify the cause and โrestore powerโ as quickly and safely as possible,” โthe post read.
Customers without power โare advised to โtake precautions, including avoiding downed power lines โคand using flashlightsโ instead of candles. CPS Energy provides resources โfor outage preparedness and safety โinformation on its website.
