tennesseeโค Authorities Investigate Gruesome Murder of โCosta Rican Woman
Lewis Chapel, โTN – โฃA โcosta Rican woman, identified by authorities โขas Vรญlchez Mora, 50, was allegedly brutally murdered inโข Sequatchie County, Tennessee, by her son,โข Vilchezโ Mora,โ 18, and his partner, Gardiner, 64. The case began on Tuesday, October 28, after the Sequatchie County Sheriff’s Office received a tip regarding a possible missing person.
Investigatorsโฃ obtained a search warrant for the family’s property and, โคon Thursday, October 30, discovered evidence suggesting Vรญlchez Mora had โbeen beaten to death. Accordingโข to reports, the son initially told officers his mother hadโค traveled toโฃ Costa โrica. Though, a โsearch of theโค home revealed “red stains โคon carpet โbelieved to be blood, red splatters on walls, desks โand photographs,”โ and an industrialโ vacuum cleaner โขcontaining suspected blood, according to News โขChannel ABC.
The examination led authorities to aโ wooded area near the residence where they foundโ a bonfire containing human remains identified by Coroner Karen Shepherd as belonging to Vรญlchez Mora. Additional suspicious human remains โwere discovered nearby.
Both Vilchez Mora and Gardiner have been charged with โmurderโค andโ desecration of a corpse. A judge denied bail to both men during a hearing onโ Fridayโ and appointed legal counsel for theirโค defense.A โคpreliminary hearing is scheduled for โDecember 8. Vรญlchez Moraโ is originally from Heredia,โค Costa Rica.
