Cyclist Dies in Cork City Collision, Separate Workplace Incident in ballycotton
A 26-year-old woman, originally from Japan โand a recent arrival โฃto Cork,โ died followingโข a road traffic collision โคin Cork City centre on Thursday evening. The incident occurred atโฃ approximately โฃ6:15pm at the junction of Albert Street and Albert Road,involving a truck and a bicycle. She was pronounced dead at the โฃscene.
The woman’s body has been taken โฃto Cork University Hospital for a post-mortem examination, scheduled for Friday.โค Sources indicate โฃsheโค was employedโ at a restaurant within theโ city and may have also workedโฃ in a retail position. Sheโฃ was in Ireland legallyโข on a โworking visa.

Separate Incident in Ballycotton
Inโ a separate incident,โ a man inโ his 40s died in Ballycotton,โ County cork, following an accident involving a dumper truck. Emergency services responded to Churchโข Road at 3:30pm after receiving a โcall regarding โคthe incident. โ
The man, who was engaged in work in the area, was fatally struck by the dumper truck he was operating. He was pronouncedโค dead at the scene.his remainsโข willโข be transferred to Cork University Hospital for a post-mortem examination.
