Boulemane Province โฃboosts Rural Economy โwith Over MADโฃ 5.8 Million โขInvestment
Boulemane, Morocco โ- october โค20,โค 2024 – A meaningful investment of MAD 5.82 million has fueled the development of 32 income-generating โฃprojects in the province of Boulemane between 2020 and 2024,โ accordingโฃ to data released โby the province’s rural โคaffairs division during the recent Boulemane โfestival of saffron and medical and aromatic plants (October 16-19).
The projects, spanning sectors like sheep farming, โpoultry, beekeeping, agriculture, medicinal โplants, sewing, โคtourism, and construction, โhave benefitted 109 individuals. The rural โขaffairs division contributed โMAD 2.549 million to these initiatives.
Beyond direct โproject funding,โ the division also invested MAD 500,000 in a cleaning machineโข for the Soulaliyate communities โin the Tissaf commune. โฃ Furthermore, landโ has been allocated to agriculturalโข cooperatives andโฃ other organizations โคfor accommodation, in collaboration withโค Al Omrane.
The province is also โactively mobilizing land for agricultural development through rental agreements. Between 2020 and โฃ2024, approximately 6,181 hectares were proposed for such arrangements, with 8,904 hectares subject to rental via calls for tendersโข between โค2021 and โค2024. Rental โขprices begin atโ MAD 500 per hectare, requiringโฃ a provisionalโ bank guarantee of MAD 10,000.
Currently, 109 agricultural rental contracts, coveringโค 3,466 hectares, are in โplace.โ These โฃare distributed across four communes: Missour (64 ha,3 contracts),Outat Lhaj (2,312 ha,55 contracts),Boulemane (701 โha,36 contracts),andโ Marmoucha (389 ha,15 contracts).
Investment โprojects linked to โthese rental contracts โขaverage โMAD 1.5โฃ million, and โฃare projected to create 360 direct jobs andโ 2,600 temporary employment opportunities. Additionally, 20 โamicable agricultural rental contracts coverโ a total area of 2,112 hectares.
