Digital agency Dept has initiated a comprehensive overhaul of its global content studio, powered by Adobe’s enterprise software suite, in response to escalating demands for marketing content. The restructuring, announced this week, integrates Adobe GenStudio, Workfront and Frame.io, alongside Dept’s proprietary Lightspeed engine and automated quality control systems.

The move aims to streamline content creation and delivery as brands navigate an increasingly fragmented media landscape and seek to engage consumers across multiple languages and platforms. Dept’s 500-person content studio will leverage Adobe Firefly’s artificial intelligence tools to automate aspects of production and content review, according to the agency.

Adobe’s GenStudio, a key component of the upgrade, is designed to increase return on investment for performance marketing, offering capabilities for scalable content personalization. Lumen Technologies is already utilizing GenStudio to enhance B2B personalization efforts, demonstrating the platform’s potential for targeted marketing campaigns. The integration of GenStudio reflects a broader industry trend toward leveraging generative AI to improve marketing efficiency and effectiveness.

The overhaul isn’t simply about adopting new software; it’s about fundamentally changing how Dept operates, according to sources familiar with the project. The agency’s Lightspeed engine and automated quality checks are intended to ensure consistency and accuracy across large-scale content initiatives globally. Adobe has also recently advanced GenStudio’s AI capabilities for video production, ad preparation, and integration with its Firefly suite of creative tools.

The partnership with Adobe comes as the demand for content continues to rise, requiring agencies to uncover innovative ways to manage production workflows and maintain quality. The integration of AI-powered tools is expected to free up creative teams to focus on higher-level strategic tasks, while automating more repetitive aspects of the content creation process.
