OPPO and Google Partner to Advance Mobile AI with Enhanced Privacy
SHENZHEN, CHINA – OPPO and Google have announced a strategic collaboration designed to integrate advanced artificial intelligence capabilities directly into mobile devices, prioritizing user privacy through a secure computing infrastructure. The partnership will deliver a suite of AI-powered features to select OPPO smartphones, beginning with the upcoming Find X9 series, launching globally on October 28th.
This alliance arrives as mobile AI rapidly evolves from cloud-based processing to on-device functionality, promising faster performance and heightened data security. The integration of Google’s AI models, coupled with OPPO’s hardware and software expertise, aims to redefine the smartphone experience. Millions of OPPO users will gain access to cutting-edge AI tools, while benefiting from a robust privacy framework that safeguards personal information.
A core tenet of the collaboration is data protection. All AI processing will occur within the OPPO AI private Computing Cloud, leveraging Google Cloud’s confidential computing services. This ensures data remains encrypted throughout the entire process, shielding it from unauthorized access – even from OPPO itself.
The initial rollout of these AI features will coincide with the release of the OPPO Find X9 series and the new version of ColorOS 16, built on Android 16. To further incentivize adoption, purchasers of these devices will receive a complimentary three-month subscription to Google AI pro, unlocking premium Gemini tools and 2 TB of cloud storage.
