Collage ofโ Physicians Launches Clinical Case Contest, Showcasing primary Care โinnovation
ALBACETE, SPAIN – The College ofโฃ Physicians of Albacete has initiated โits annual โClinical Case contest, providing a platform for primary care cliniciansโฃ to share challenging and insightful patient experiences. The contest, โขwhich culminated in an event on November 24, 2023, โrecognizes excellence in diagnosticโค reasoning, patient management, and the crucial physician-patient relationship.
This year’s contest featured presentations from clinicians tackling โdiverse medical complexities, ranging from addiction management to interpreting diagnostic tests inโข rural settings. The event underscores theโ vital role ofโฃ primary care physicians โinโ navigating the evolving healthcare landscape and highlights the โimportance of continuous learning and peer-to-peer knowledge exchange. Winners were โขselected and โrecognized duringโข aโข closing ceremony, marking the conclusion of the event.
The November 24th program included individual case presentations followed by groupโ discussions. Elena Lozoya de lasโข Heras presented “The labyrinth of addictions: the key role of the medical-patient relationship” (18:54 – 19:02),followed by Patricia gallego Redondo’s “‘If atโ least the pain disappeared'” (19:02โ – 19:10). Lauraโ Martรญnezโฃ Hernรกndez explored “The importance of the senses” (19:10 โ- 19:18), andโฃ marรญa Flores Copete discussed “Beyond treatment with Urbason”โ (19:18 – 19:26).
A subsequent sessionโ focused on clinical โขcases in primary care, featuring Pablo Madrigal Laguรญa’s โpresentation on โ”Infernal approach to weight loss in rural primary care” (19:36 -โ 19:44), Carmen Lรณpezโ Garrido’s “A not so physical pain”โ (19:44 – 19:52),โฃ and Marta Izquierdo Gabriel’s case study, “Doctor, I haveโ the positive mantoux testโค What do โI do?” (19:52 – 20:00). Each โขpresentation was followed by a group discussion, fostering collaborative learning among attendees.
The event โconcluded with a deliberation, awards presentation, and closing remarks (20:10โฃ – 20:30), recognizingโข the cliniciansโข who presented the most compellingโ and informative cases.
